Resort Dives:

Nothing comes close to feeling "weightless" underwater and only divers knows this feeling.  Resort Dives are ideal for those looking to enjoy the experience of diving before they go on to Open Water Diver certification, or for those who may be short on time.

Your dive leader will begin with a talk on some of the important safety aspects of diving before showing you your equipment. Once in the water, your dive leader will take you for your very first scuba dive to enjoy the sights and sounds of the ocean and catch a glimpse of some of Koh Tao’s famous marine life.

Groups for Resort dives are small, usually one or two people. However if groups wish to go together for their first Scuba experience it is easily accommodated for.

If you want to see why people love diving so much, a Resort Dive is your chance to discover what diving and the ocean have to offer. 

Scuba Diver:

Your first step towards Open Water Diver certification. If you do not have time to do the full Open Water Diver course but still wish to begin your journey towards certification, the Scuba Diver course is for you.

You will complete the "first half" of the Open Water Diver theory as well as half of the in-water work, including two open water scuba dives.  The course offers an introduction to all of the basics of self-reliance in scuba under the supervision of one of our experienced instructors.

Once completed, you will be able to dive to a depth of 12 metres under the supervision of a certified dive professional.  The Scuba Diver course is fully creditable towards Open Water Diver certification by completing the second "half" of the course.

Open Water Diver:

Your Open Water Diver course course is typically a four day program designed to make you a member of the diving community. Using videos, books and discussions, your instructor will make sure you understand the basics of dive theory, you will get comfortable with your equipment in our purpose built swimming pool or just off the beach on our house reef, and complete four open water scuba dives.

Typically in group sizes of 3-6, you will learn everything you need to become a recreational diver, free to dive the oceans of the world (to a maximum depth of 18 metres) without the need for further certification.

On completion you will receive your license opening up an underwater world of scuba diving opportunities, from advanced courses, to speciality instruction and beyond.

For those of you who have already achieved your Open Water certification, options are available to you to continue your learning experience with additional training or just to relax and enjoy the leisure of fun diving.

Continuing Education:

Advanced Diver

A good way to continuing your diving education is with the SSI Advanced Adventurer course or PADI Advanced course. Both courses offer a 5-dive package to open up the world of diving specialities. There are a number of specialities available for you to try from deep diving, night diving, underwater photography, underwater navigation, and many more.

The aim of the advanced course is to introduce you to different speciality areas of diving so you can decide for yourself which direction you want to take your blossoming diving career. With the emphasis placed on practical application of diving and water work, the advanced course gives you the opportunity to try new things underwater and see where your experiences take you.

Speciality Diving

Once you finish your advanced course, or if you already know what areas of scuba diving interest you, you can begin your training as a specialty diver in a number of ways.

Our most popular diving Specialities are Diver Stress & Rescue, Deep Diving and Enriched Air Nitrox.

A True Advanced Diver

If you have the time, why not extend your training to achieve the SSI Advanced Open Water Diver certification?  During your SSI Advanced Open Water Diver programme, you will complete four Speciality diving courses and 24 dives, which can be made up of training dives and fun dives where you gain valuable experience diving more independently within your buddy team.

If you are interested in just enjoying the unique diving that Koh Tao has to offer then you can use our extensive fun dive package to dive at your leisure. With 26 separate dive sites around Koh Tao as well as many unexplored areas, we can offer you a range of experiences, from relaxed to challenging, to enjoy whilst you stay with us.

Fun dives are led by our excellent assistant instructor team, who will act as guides rather than instructors, showing you where to go and pointing out the diverse and exciting marine life available to see. For experienced divers looking to make the final jump to professional certification, Phoenix Divers offers all SSI professional qualifications. You begin with your Dive Control Specialist course, enabling you to become an assistant instructor like our fabulous team, and begin your working life in the world of diving if you choose to. The course is treated like an internship with customers basing the course around their needs, time is not an issue for us, take the course at your own pace, taking exams or just getting more diving experience by assisting our many instructors on courses, the structure is set by you and your instructor. We also offer SSI Instructor Training Courses and SSI Instructor Crossovers for those already certified as an instructor and looking to expand their employment base or merely after a new challenge.

Phoenix Divers Instructor Certifier Neil Farmer from Scotland has worked at Phoenix since it’s opening in 2003. Work experience internships are guaranteed at Phoenix before and after certification with Neil and our five dive control specialist Instructors. With our swimming poll and 4 air con classrooms Phoenix has great facilities to offer a potential instructor candidate as well as one of the most experienced dive teams in Thailand.

Instructors who are already certified with a recognized agency can conduct the 2 day crossover course to familiarize themselves with the differences between agencies. The goal is not to make an instructor, but to make clear any changes in material, skills, standards etc so the instructor can feel confident on their first courses after crossing over.

Subjects included in the crossover include history and teaching philosophy, educational system, teaching the academics, in water teaching (with pool session), teaching the open water course and continuing education programs.

This obviously makes instructors more in demand if they are dual certified. Instructors are welcome to gain experience with one of the schools already experienced instructor team.

The cost for the 2 day course is 17,000bht which includes all materials
