 It's something we're often asked. "When it the best time to visit Koh Tao or Thailand"
 And it's not an easy one to answer. For many years April has been the hottest and driest month on Koh Tao, but the last 2 years ity has rained a bit over Thai New Year in mid April. It was still hot though.

 The dry period on Koh Tao usually runs from end of January until October. In that period it is mostly hot with little rain, in June & July when the Indian Ocean monsoon starts we get what is referred to as "mango showers" which are short but powerful downpours. The wind usually picks up in October and November is the month with the most downpour.

 Having said that, the seasons are not what they were 8-10 years ago, and regardless of what is written in guide books, the weather can change, and even if it does rain a bit, it's warm rain!

 When the weather is good it is usually better to visit Koh Tao before the Full Moon party on Koh Pha Ngan. Several reasons for this. Firstly just after fullmoon the weather usually changes bringing a bit of wind and rain, it is also more quiet and therefore easier to find accommodation on Koh Tao.
